  • Analyze data and insights to determine industry and consumer trends
  • Devise long-term development strategies for product categories
  • Manage and keep track sales in- out and inventory
  • design and launch new products, create marketing & advertising campaign/activity
  • Plan promotions to increase product sales and build the popularity of the brand
  • Ensure the brand, its products, and its advertising remain consistent
  • Analyze the product sales in retail locations to determine the strength of the brand
  • Collaborate closely with sales team to introduce/update product & MKT calendar; must keep track the sale goal, and also with MA to manage and control the approved budget
  • Work closely with agency to design the product and advertising activity effectively
  • Make forecasts for product demand to ensure the sustainability of inventory
  • Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category
  • Take care the brand and product image in store frequently

  • Analytical skills: Retail category managers must be analytical and practical to manage the numbers part of their job effectively.
  • Interpersonal skills: A successful retail category manager needs to be intuitive and personable to manage relationships.
  • Problem-solving skills: Retail category managers are multi-tasks and effective problem solvers that are involved in multiple stages of the retail process.
  • Negotiating skills: Retail category managers use good judgment and wisdom in negotiations and projections. Good intuition is as valuable as good analysis in this role.
  • Attention to detail: Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are important when dealing with vendors and coworkers.
