1. Business contracts and processes
- Review various business related agreements, contracts, documents on a day-to-day basis for the business including franchise agreements, vendor agreements, payment gateway agreements, banking agreements, warehousing services agreement, fulfilling services agreements, etc.
- Advise on compliances under foreign exchange laws concerning business, specifically retail trading and wholesale trading.
- Assist with legal compliance management across the company.
- Establish a process driven approach and improve the existing processes
- Provide letters of authorization, powers of attorney whenever required
2. Litigation
- Review, analyse and discuss all notices/disputes/legal matters with the CEO.
- Coordinate with the all Heads of Departments with regard to Legal matters.
- Review ongoing cases and advice management accordingly.
- Liaise with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action have been taken.
- Provide brief to the counsel, discuss the case matters and follow-up
- Review the documentation such as plaints, written statements, objections, writ petitions, appeals
- Appear before the courts to give evidence, sworn statements etc. (if applicable)
3. Property Lease Related
- Carry out legal due diligence directly wherever required or through close co-ordination with external counsel, with appropriate compliance with local laws.
- Assess and highlight legal risks in lease transactions to the management.
- Assist in assessing the stamp duty and registration of lease documents
4. Other Legal Responsibilities
- Manage all legal documents
- Create and manage an effective MIS
- Closely work with trade mark attorneys
- Assist business in identifying availability of trademarks and make applications for registration.
- Assist the trade mark attorneys with opposition claims

Yêu cầu công việc

- Degree in law (LLB) or Master of law (LLM);
- Minimum 5 years in a legal position. Experience in retail industry will be an advantage.
- Critical thinking and commercial mindset;
- Proven ability to proactively provide insightful and timely legal support to stakeholders across a functionally;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong team player, flexible, international, open minded person, stress resistant, resilient, able to work in a fast-moving and high-pressure environment.
