Senior Legal Officer

* Job purpose (Overview of overall responsibility)
- Legal consulting and support on the Company’s business activities and ensuring that all the Company’s documents are legally reviewed and comply with the current law and the Company’s internal authorizations and powers of attorrney.
- Participating into settlememt of pre-litigation complaints, carrying out legal proceedings at courts, arbitrations, etc. In order to protect legitimate rights and interest of the company.
* Key Task
1. Legal advice and support
a) Give legal advice and support upon the request from the Domain/Department and/or the assignment of the Legal Manager;
b) Draft the internal processes, documents, Power of Attorrney and other documents sent to individuals;
c) Update, provide and organize training on the legal knowledge, instructions on legal applying directly relating to the Company’s business activities (Tax Law, Law on Insurance Business, Law on Enterprises, Code on Civil Procedures, Law on Commercial Arbitration, etc);
d) Control the legal risk and the dispute risk on:
- The drafts of internal management documents, contract templates, transaction templates between the Company and customers or third parties;
- Terms and Conditions of Life Insurance products;
- Important and big value contracts;
- Documents to refuse claims on life insurance.
e) Implement the legal procedures relating to the competent authorities.
f) Proposed the choice and use of independent legal adviser.
2. Dispute resolution
a) Consult, instruct and/or participate in the resolutions of claims and disputes relating to the Company.;
b) Prepare the explanations, feedbacks and protection opinions to the related competent authorities, litigtion authorities, court, arbitration to solve the claims and disputes;
c) Carry out other legal procedures to solve claims and disputes.
2. Other tasks
a) Prepare opinions contributing into the drafts of legal documentts;
b) Update, systemize, searching support and provide the legal documents relating to the insurance business;
c) Other tasks under the assignment of the Legal Manager and competent authorization.

- Ensure that all the legal advice and control of the Legal Department comply with the risk appetite of the Company;
- The outcome does not have any formality and content mistakes (typos, legal applying and quotations);
- The outcome meets the requirements on right protection and/or increase the Company’s business effectiveness.

* Education and related experience (For position not for person holding the job)
- University
- 5-10 years
* Other requirement:
+ University Degree in Law
+ Lawyer Certificate, Bar member, .
+ Specific Knowledge, Skills and other Competencies (if any)
+ English language, both written and verbal
+ Strong analytical, Negotiation and Presentation skills
+ Be mature, Proactive and Professional
+ Good ability of risk analysing, problem solving and solid judgement
+ Have at least 5 years working as a lawyer or General Counsel in in financial service companies, insurance companies are preferable.
